The 3,865-square-foot house, which was built in 1999, is in the North Scottsdale neighborhood.

Mr. Fredrikson is a director of Consumer Portfolio Services, Inc., a consumer finance company, and Colonial Commercial Corp., a supplier of HVAC products and supplies. He is also chairman of the board for Track Data Corp., in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a professor of finance at the Syracuse University Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

He holds an A.B. in economics from Princeton University as well as an M.B.A. in accounting and a Ph.D. in finance from Columbia University.

There were 3,085 home sales in Scottsdale in 2008, with a median sale price of $349,500.
