Coyotes No. 1 pick buys home in Scottsdale

Kyle R. Turris bought a home at 8423 E. Havasupai Dr. in Scottsdale from Michele Bergey and Thomas R. Bergey for $665,000 on Dec. 9.

The 2,423-square-foot house was built in 2000.

Turris is a Canadian professional hockey player with the Phoenix Coyotes. He was drafted third overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by Phoenix.

Prior to joining the Coyotes, he played with the Wisconsin Badgers of the NCAA's Western Collegiate Hockey Association in 2007-08. He led the team with 35 points in 36 games.

Turris played junior hockey for the Burnaby Express of the British Columbia Hockey League. In two seasons with the team he scored 102 goals and had 193 points.

Turris made his NHL debut on April 3 and played the final three games of the 2007-08 season with the Coyotes.

There have been 2,965 sales in Scottsdale thus far in 2008. The median sales price is at $390,000.
